coyote comparing by Tricksters-Taxidermy coyote comparing by Tricksters-Taxidermy
Got the coyote from Nekomii the other day! he's a big boy, just a hair smaller then my red! When I measured my red coyote he was an astounding 67" long but threw tanning he shrank a bit. I'd bet these guys where the same size in life...

dose anyone know about coyote colors? still trying to figure out what color to call that red (if he is a red...)

here is a picture of the reds paws before I tanned: trickster-of-asgard.deviantart…

He looks like a mix rather than a pure red.  Here's my red coyote, he doesn't have any silver on him.  Very interesting hybrid colour though, he sure is a cutey! Loving the tail on the grey though :)

They look like normal yotes to me. the top being an eastern probably since they tend to be more red, a true red doesnt have those back markigs. the bottom is probably an alaskan or western yote, ours tend to be more silvery.

interesting. I wonder if it has anything to do with a red wolf population breeding with yotes?

the once we have are rather small (only seen one really big one) and they are really light and silvery though I have seen red coyotes here, just not very many...

You mean red as in tawny coloured wolves right? Red wolves are a species lol but no. I dont know much about coyotes but they arent red or any other colour like that because of wolves. They have different colour phases on their own, if anything, they have domestic dog genetics in them.
