Rest Stop

Loki's training as a Bikejoring dog started the day we got him at 10 weeks old. We introduced the bike and had him run beside us to get used to the sound and movement that the bike and the rider make; He took to it very well! showing no sign of associating the bike with something that needed to be chased instead of pulled. Though he didn't start trying to pull until he was 6 months. Now at 9 months old he has basic understanding of right (Gee) and left (Haw) - though he still needs a lot of practice - He has gotten much better when he sees a small animal along the trail; he no longer darts off to chase it, and he now only speeds up a little bit to get a closer look. Because of his age he's on a pure bungee cord that stretches twice it's own length this is so that it absorbs the shock of his pull and will be easy on his knees. Loki also has a very padded comfy harness to that it will cause less friction across his chest. When he gets older and is finished growing I'll get him the true sled dog harness and tow line.

All and all he's quickly shaping up to be a very good lead dog and one day I hope he will pass on that knowledge to his future pups!
